Born in Masasi, Tanzania
Started carving his first Makonde spirit sculptures
Moved to Mbagala, a suburb of Dar es Salaam
Worked for Nyumba ya Sanaa, the house of art in the center of Dar es Salaam, and started to produce etchings, woodcuts, paintings and drawings
Began exhibiting his work internationally
He died in Dar es Salaam.
