Apart from the series of ornamental color collages of small enamel plates, the artist names one of his picture series “La Maskerade”, indicating the “disguised”, concealed contents of his works. They refer to the general political and social circumstances in his home country, the gradual ebbing of family ties and the weakening identification of the modern Togolese with the country of their forefathers. What is seen is not what it actually is. In a way, everything begins to exist just as we become aware of it.
