ARTCO Events in September

The summer is coming to an end. Despite the falling temperatures, we will not cool off, but start the fall with a varied program of exciting exhibitions in Europe, Africa and North America.

 


 

At this year's Kunstroute Aachen, our gallery’s artists can be found in three different exhibitions in and around Aachen.

 

Solo Show Gideon Mendel
28.09. - 31.10. 2019

With Drowning World & Burned Memories, we are showing a solo exhibition with works by the South African photographer Gideon Mendel in our gallery space at Seilgraben 31.

 

EL Loko - Weltengesichter

04.09. - 07.10.2019 / Citykirche St. Nikolaus

Under the title "EL Loko - Weltengesichter", the Citykirche presents a solo exhibition with works by the Togolese artist EL Loko.

 

Tradition & Moderne

28.9. & 29.9. 2019 / Afrika. Haus. 

With "Tradition and modernity - The Masks", the Africa. House. will present a juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary masks to its visitors. The exhibition will include works by: Manuela SamboTété AzankpoGodfried Donkor, Amouzou Glikpa and EL Loko.

 


 

This September ARTCO participates in two major international art fairs.

 

EXPO CHICAGO / 19 - 22 SEPTEMBER 2019

We are looking forward to exhibiting at EXPO Chicago for the very first time.
In addition to photographic works by Justin Dingwall and new paintings by Ransome Stanley and Richard Mudariki, we will present the first works of Marion Boehm’s new series:  COTTON FIELDS.

 

LATITUDES ART FAIR / Johannesburg, 12.–15. Sep. 2019

Johannesburg has a new international art fair. At LATITUDES, ARTCO will not only present works by Marcelo Brodsky and Gideon Mendel in a "Two artist show", but also feature brand-new works by Marion BoehmRaphael Adjetey Mayne and Justin Dingwall, at our second booth.


 

Berlin Art Week

 

Panel Discussion: Marcelo Brodsky & Wolfgang Kaleck

 

On Saturday, 14 September from 8 pm, we would like to conclude the exhibition Poetics of Resistance with a very special event. Together with Marcelo Brodsky and Wolfgang Kaleck (ECCHR), we set out to discuss the role of art in resistance movements.
